Experiencing Death By NightshadeHibana Chapter Five Kyo clenched his fists while staring at the ground his body slightly shaking. "How can you expect me to kill you just because of the stupid curse? If I were to kill you and lose the curse that everyone hates I'd still suffer like I do now. Only worse knowing I killed the one who always cared for me and taught me everything I know..." Kyo could fell tears threatening to fall but he wasn't going to let them. He refused to cry. Lowering his head he stared down at the ground trying to hide the emotions showing clearly visible in his eyes. Kazuma walked up to Kyo gently resting his hand on top of Kyo's head. "I'm sorry for upsetting you, Kyo. I was only telling you the truth and you'll soon understand all I've told you soon enough." "Master...I've let you down. I won't make the mistake of doing what I did again I promise. I know you must be ashamed of me." He voice was shaking as he held tightly onto Kazuma's robes. "I'm giving you three days. When I come back I expect you to understand. Think of what I told you and the dream you had. Then I'll come back and check on you." "Only three days? That isn't enough time can't I just go with you?" Kyo looked up at him with pleading eyes. "You know how much I hate it here!" "Okay Kyo. If you can explain what you've learned to me when I come back then I'll allow you to come and stay with me. All right?" Heavily sighing Kyo nodded his head taking a step back. "Yeah, all right. I'll do it just so I can go and stay with you! Well, that and I do want to understand all of this." “You look so determined right now Kyo. Knowing that you'll be able to live with me by learning is motivation enough for you. I have a feeling that if you truly understand like I want you to that you will not want to leave. Very well then, Kyo. I'll see you three days from now.” "Three days," He mumbled to himself while watching his master leave. Kyo walked back to the house with his hands shoved in his pockets. Before he did anything he wanted to find Kagura and apologize for being so cold towards her. Thanking her might be a good idea too...at least he would try to. He wasn't used to being nice and actually showing his feelings especially when it came to her. He couldn't find her anywhere inside the house. Kyo knew she was there still because of her things that were lying in a neat pile on the floor. Walking outside Kyo climbed up to his favorite spot on the roof and that's where he found Kagura staring up at the night sky. She knew he was there but she didn't acknowledge him anyway just continued to stare up at the sky. He moved over and sat down next to her not saying anything at first just sitting there. After a few minutes of silence, Kyo decided to finally speak up. "Kagura..." "I won't be bothering you anymore, Kyo. I know you think I'm a pain and nothing but trouble not to mention very annoying. I'm sorry for always being that way." "No, actually I came to, well, apologize. You've been here for me the past few days after my little incident and I've been a complete jerk towards you when I should be thanking you." "Don't say things that you don't mean. Everyone knows how much you hate me and how annoying you think I am you never want me around so it’s obvious. I really like you Kyo and you know that...that's why I always cling to you. I'm wrong for doing that and I'm sorry. I'll stop being so possessive I guess you can say. I just thought that if I acted that way you would maybe change your mind." Kyo didn't say anything just sat next to her quietly. What she had said was partially true. At one point in time he did dislike her and wished she would just go away but he had never hated her. Thinking about it now made him regret ever wishing that. What if she really had went away and left him alone? It was very likely that he wouldn't be living right now. "I won't say that I've always liked you Kagura. You can be very annoying at times," Kagura lowered her gaze. "I can put up with it though. I mean...I don't mind you being around that much just as long as you stop clinging to me the way you do. Still, I don't understand how you can put up with me when I'm always so mean to you." "I'm not going to stop being your friend and trying to help you. I don't care how mean you are to me or how much you push me away I'll always be here for you." "Yeah, I know that now and I shouldn't be as mean to you. I'll try and work on that. Oh and uh," Kyo rubbed the back of his neck trying to get the words out this felt strange saying how he felt to her. "I appreciate you being here for me." "I always will be even when you try and push me away." "Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know." Kagura couldn't help but smile. Kyo rarely showed this side of him especially around her and him finally opening up even just a little made her happy. Maybe things would change and he'd be nicer to her and share the feelings that she had for him. It's possible right? With Kyo it's hard to tell for all she knew he could just be putting on an act or something. The next day he could go back to being the way he was before. Then again maybe she is wrong something told her that he meant what he was saying. They sat together for a while in a comfortable silence enjoying each others company till Kyo spoke. "Master wants me to kill him." Kagura stared at him for a moment then shook her head. "That doesn't sound like Master why would he want you to kill him? Doesn't make much sense." "If I want to get rid of the stupid curse of the cat I'll have to. I don't understand why he wouldn't tell me. Three days is all I have to figure out a dream I had and everything he said to me earlier. Hopefully I'll get it right and then I can go and live with him." "Do you have to go Kyo? If you get it right I mean...it isn't that bad here you-" "I want to get as far away from here as I possibly can. I hate it here." Kagura knew there wasn't anything she could say to change his mind about possibly going to live with their Master. Kyo has always wanted to go and live with him why would he give up a chance to stay with him just for her? Maybe living with him would be the best and make Kyo happy. She wanted whatever would be best for Kyo. "In that case Kyo I hope you find out what you need to know," Kagura stood brushing herself off. "It's late so I should be getting to bed." "How long are you staying here?" Kyo tilted his head looking up at her. "Three days." "Three days?" Kagura nodded and began to carefully climb down off the roof. "That way I'll be here to see how things turn out." |
